We present the Porsche with which our driver Patrick BAY competed in the 24 hours of Barcelona.
It was last Thursday the 14th when Patrick discovered his new team and the PORSCE GT3 CUP, where the driver was delighted with the Porsche and its strong acceleration on the straights.
On Friday the 15th was the free test session in which, due to an interruption, they were only able to do a few laps.
In the afternoon, rain flooded the circuit just at the time of qualifications that determine the starting grid for the race.
The day ends with the night test, especially important for young drivers like Patrick without experience in these conditions. Despite the conditions of the track, everything goes well and Patrick knew how to adapt very well.
Despite a good qualification from the team in the rain on Friday, the race did not start with the best auspices… On the pre-grill lap, they were left in the middle of the circuit without being able to change gears. The teammate had an excellent first turn, making up many positions. Patrick, being the youngest, did several double shifts of more than 2 hours on the track, climbing to the first position in our category.
At 2 in the morning they suffered a transmission failure that left them in the pit for 30 laps. The boys fought again to come back, finishing second in our Porsche 992 AM category.
A magnificent result for this team and a discovery for our driver Patrick, who has fallen in love with these endurance races, which involve a lot of struggle and effort.
