24 Hours of Barcelona: Patrick Bay Achieves Second Place in Porsche GT3 CUP
A magnificent result for this team and a discovery for our driver Patrick Bay in the famous endurance race of Barcelona.
On Friday the 14th, Patrick discovered his new team and the Porsche GT3 CUP, being thrilled with the vehicle and its strong acceleration on the straights.
Practice and qualification session: On Friday the 15th, the free practice session took place with a disruption that limited the work. In the afternoon, rain flooded the circuit just at the time of the qualifications. Patrick adapted very well to the night practice despite the lack of experience.
During the race: Despite a good qualification in the rain, the start was complicated when the team lost gear shifting capabilities. The teammate had an excellent first stint, moving up positions. Patrick, being the youngest, completed several double stints of over 2 hours on track, even reaching the first position in his category.
At 2 AM they suffered a transmission failure that left them in the pits for 30 laps. Despite this, the guys fought to recover, finishing second in the Porsche 992 AM category.
Patrick has fallen in love with these endurance races, discovering a new passion for competitions that involve a lot of struggle and effort.
