High Alkalinity Cylinder Oils for 2T Marine Diesel Engines

CYLUBE VL70 SAE 50 are high alkalinity (BN 70) cylinder lubricating oils developed for the lubrication of modern low-speed, large bore, crosshead type, two-stroke marine diesel engines, especially turbocharged and subjected to extremely severe operating conditions.

These oils are formulated from highly refined base oils, providing maximum lubricating film resistance, along with advanced complex detergent additives capable of offering high-performance protection against cylinder scuffing, as well as effective neutralization of combustion acids when using residual fuels with high sulfur content.

Thanks to their high base number (TBN 70), CYLUBE VL70 SAE 50 are especially suitable for engines operating with residual fuels with sulfur levels above 3% by weight, where a high neutralizing capacity is required to protect liners, pistons, and rings against corrosive wear.

Their high viscosity and excellent lubricity allow maintaining a robust oil film, reducing wear of cylinders and rings, and ensuring effective lubrication even under extreme pressure and temperature conditions.
